Follow these steps to configure Outlook Express  Internet E-mail account. You will need your email address and password.

Step 1: With Outlook Express open, click Tools, then click Accounts. You will see the Internet Accounts window.

Step 2: Click Mail to display all current Mail accounts in Outlook Express.

Step 3: To add a new mail account, click Add, move your mouse pointer to the right, and click Mail.

Step 4: Type your full name. When you send e-mail, the name you type will be attached to your messages. If you wish, you can use your first name, last name, a nickname, or even two names. Click Next.

Step 5: Click the button beside "I already have an e-mail address that I would like to use". Type your e-mail address in lowercase letters, with no spaces. Click Next.

Step 6: Enter the E-mail Server Names, as shown in Figure 6.

  • a) Type of incoming mail server: select POP3 from the list
    b) Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server : [email protected]
    c) Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: [email protected]
    d) Click Next

Step 7: Type your email address and password

  • a) Always type your email address and password in lowercase with no spaces.
    b) Type your e-mail address in the Account name field.
    c) Type your e-mail password in the Password field. (It will appear as ****** to remain secure).

    d) If you wish to check your e-mail without having to always enter your password, click the box next to Remember password.
    e) Ensure there is no check beside Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
    f) Click Next.

Step 8: Click Finish. Click Close on the Internet Accounts window to return to the main Outlook Express window.
